10 Songs You Didn’t Know Mentioned Chevy

Used car dealers in rochester ny

Whether you live in a city or small town, you probably drive past many local Chevy car dealerships every single day. Whether they are new Chevy dealers, used Chevy dealers, or both, there are probably a few things you didn’t know about Chevy. Did you know that Chevy has been mentioned in over one thousand songs? Below are ten songs that you probably did not realize mentioned the Chevy brand. So, next time you’re driving past your local Chevy car dealerships, you might put your radio on and recognize one of these Chevy loving tunes.

1. “American Pie” by Don McLean
One of the most recognizable and memorable Chevy references in a song comes from the all-American “American Pie” by Don McLean. Don and his “good ole boys” took his Chevy to what was, unfortunately, a dry levy. The good news is, at least his boys had whiskey and rye.

2. “Blue (Da Ba Dee) (Remix)” by Eiffel 65
If you love the color blue, or if you grew up in the 1990’s, you are familiar with this Eiffel 65 song. The infamous blue character in this song was lucky enough to own a Chevrolet corvette in his favorite color (you guessed it): blue.

3. “Chattahoochee” by Alan Jackson
This man’s Chevy had its windows fogged up before the owner treated himself to some burgers and grape sno-cones. Although he didn’t quite understand how to eat a well-balanced meal, at least he knew enough to own a Chevy!

4. “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John
The man in this Elton John song had a perfect summer night with his girl Suzie and his Chevy. They held hands and skimmed stones and showed off their crocodile dance moves.

5. “Don’t Forget to Remember Me” by Carrie Underwood
In this song, a Chevy accompanied a girl who had finally grown up, about to experience life on her own. At least she could depend on her family as well as her Chevy.

6. “Night Moves” Bob Seger
Bob Seger worked on his night moves near the woods, far past the cornfields. Luckily he could perfect his night moves with his 1960 Chevy.

7. “Ridin’ In My Chevy” Snoop Dogg
While the song title makes it quite obvious that this song mentions Chevy, Snoop Dogg’s descriptions of his actions in his Chevy make the reference easy to overlook. However, Chevy is mentioned multiple times as Snoop Dogg is “sittin’ at the light (at the light).”

8. “You Win My Love” Shania Twain
Unlike the few songs above, the girl in this song didn’t own her own Chevy. Instead, she was looking for a lover with a 1955 Chevy. The good news is, if she can’t find a guy who owns one, she can always take a trip to one of her local Chevy car dealerships and buy one of her own. She does have a good chance of meeting someone who owns a Chevy, though, as every 6.5 seconds a Chevy is sold somewhere in the world.

9. “Tim McGraw” Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift describes a boy who owns a Chevy truck that, unfortunately, tends to get stuck at night. Sounds like this boy needs to join Shania and get himself a new Chevy.

10. “Shake it Off (Remix)” by Mariah Carey feat. Jay Z and Young Jeezy
After eating Popeyes, Young Jeezy picks up a girl in his Chevy convertible, letting the top down and the music blast. If that doesn’t make you want a Chevy convertible, I don’t know what will.
